Quick and easy, turkey chili that you can have on the table and less than 40 minutes. So good and so easy. 1 tablespoon pure olive oil 1 sweet onion chopped 3 large garlic cloves chopped 1 28-ounce can no-salt-added whole tomatoes 2 14.5-ounce cans of low-sodium black beans, rinsed and drained 1 pound ground turkey 1 carrot grated 3 cups low-sodium tomato juice 2 bay leaves preferably fresh Ā¼ cup ground dried red chiles 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon ground coriander Ā½ teaspoon cayenne pepper or to taste Coarse kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper Heat the oil in a large heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until soft and translucent, 3 to 5 minutes.ā€Ø Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, 45 to 60 seconds. Add the tomatoes, beans, turkey, and carrot. Using a wooden spoon, break up the turkey, then add the tomato juice. Bring to a boil over high heat. Decrease the heat to simmer and add the bay leaves, ground chiles, cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the turkey is tender and the flavors have married, about 30 minutes. Taste and adjust for seasoning with salt and pepper. Ladle into warmed bowls and serve immediately. Youā€™re gonna love the zero proof citrus spritzer. Well, technically itā€™s low proof because these @thebittertruthcompany bitters do have some alcohol. Bitters are a neutral alcohol infused with spices, herbs, fruits, roots, and other ingredients. some bitters are completely alcohol free such as @feebrothersofficial Bitters are a key part of complex and delicious cocktails and mocktails. While I personally occasionally drink alcohol I prefer NA (no alcohol) most of the time. But, that doesnā€™t mean that I donā€™t want a special beverage. We used tiny citrus that my friend grows, but you could also use kumquats, clementines, or pixie tangerines. Fill a glass with ice. Halve 2-3 kumquats and squeeze the juice into the glass. Rub the rim of the glass with the spent orange. Add the halves, too. Thinly slice 2 kumquats and add to glass. Add 6-8 shakes of bitters. Top with soda. Garnish with orange leaf or rosemary sprig. 1st pic 2020/2nd 2023 I healed myself. (I still feel the same way about cooking. No matter my trauma or drama, cooking centers me in the universe.) But this isnā€™t about thatā€¦ itā€™s about a different type of #transformationtuesday Sometimes I forget that I re-herniated a disc after the break up and move in the Fall of 2019. It was a mess. There were some days that I could not walk upstairs to my bedroom. I would stand for hours because it hurt too much to sit down or lay down. I was already working on my weight and health. One the best activities for me was walking. I walked as best I could even though sometimes it was very slowly and just around the block. I started PT. A few weeks later, I was scheduled for a surgical procedure - then Covid shut down the healthcare system. I kept at my PT, doing the exercises myself. I eventually weaned myself off of the pain medication and anti-inflammatories. I healed myself. it blows my mind sometimes to think about it. if you swipe through, that is a photo of me, hanging upside down by my ankle twisted up in a bedsheet and Iā€™m grabbing my other foot with my arms behind me. Irish Brown Bread

The germ is the part of the wheat berry that sprouts to grow into a new plant and is the healthiest part of the wheat berry. Irish Flour is whole grain or whole wheat flour coarsely ground from red whole wheat. Itā€™s a bit more coarse than regular whole wheat flour. Most recipes sub out 1 cup of the Irish-style whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour for Irish Brown Bread.

Makeover Recipe: Easy Lemon Squares

All-purpose flour is actually fewer points than almond flour, but I wanted to try this recipe both with regular flour and gluten-free almond flour. With an almond flour gluten-free crust, it may as well have a gluten-free custard, so cornstarch is the answer.

Add a tablespoon of light sour cream (1 pt), a couple of tablespoons of shredded Cheddar (2 pts), chopped green onions or chives (0 pts), and shiitake bacon (0 pts) and you have a super satisfying, indulgent (but still good for you) dinner that will ring all the comfort food bells. Itā€™s great to make a batch and use for salads, vegetable seasoning, crostini, and yes, to serve atop a Baked Potato!
