Took some much need time off to reset and take a look back at the past year… 1️⃣ place I wish I could’ve seen more of was Mount Rainer National Park. I knew I was risking it by visiting at the end of October 🙏🏻, but figured I’d try to fit in one last hiking trip. A snow storm came through the day before we got there, meaning closed roads, ice, buckets of snow ❄️ I wish I had had the chance to do some of the hikes in the park, but I honestly think the Fall 🍁 would be a much better time to go. If you do end up near Mount Rainer NP in the winter, take in the views 👀 on the way to the Henry M Jackson Visitor Center from Seattle. ✨Exact Itinerary from Türkiye ⬇️ 1️⃣ Fly to Antalya, Türkiye and stay in the Old Town. 2️⃣ Day trip to the ancient city of Heiropolis which includes many sites. My favorite were the limestone terraces of Pamukkale, the ancient theater, and Cleopatra’s thermal pool that even has ruins at its bottom. Talk to your guide about adding on the paragliding over Pamukkale. 3️⃣ Day trip to Suluada Island, a beautiful island in the Mediterranean with white pebbles and clear water. Have dinner at Grand Friends Fish & Steak Restaurant. 4️⃣ Take an early flight on Sun Express to Cappadocia. Book your tours and settle in with some amazing hummus at Kebapzade Restaurant. Take a sunset horseback ride into Red Valley. 5️⃣ Enjoy a sunrise hot air balloon ride that takes you in the air and into Love Valley for about an hour. Book this for the first day and stay a few days in Cappadocia in the event the ride is cancelled due to weather. Visit Goreme Open Air Museum. At sunset, take an ATV tour to Love Valley, Rose Valley, and Ref Valley. 6️⃣ Watch the hot air balloons at sunrise from the ground. You can watch them from your hotel if you have a good view, on a hike, or while having a Turkish breakfast. Visit the underground city of Kaymakli. You can do the Green Tour which includes Kaymakli. We were feeling toured out so we rented a car for the day for 60 euros and drove ourself. On the way back visit Pigeon Valley and Uchisar Castle. 7️⃣ Fly back on Sun Express to Antalya for some time to relax. Stay at Akra and enjoy a few drinks poolside. 8️⃣ Enjoy the private beach at Akra, but get here early for a good chair. Have dinner at 7Mehmet. 9️⃣ Visit the public beach in Antalya, Konyaalti. ✨The good and bad on this day trip: Good: 1️⃣ Suluada Island is absolutely gorgeous! The orange colored rocks and the clear water over a shore of white pebbles was incredible. 2️⃣ You get time to visit two beaches as well as an incredible looking cave. 3️⃣ The music and drinks offered on the boat make for an even more fun experience 🍻 Bad: 1️⃣ There are a lot of people on these boats out to the island and there are a lot of boats so it is a bit crowded. 2️⃣ Depending on how early your bus gets to the boat will determine if you get a day bed on the top deck. Otherwise, you’ll sit at tables on the bottom deck. 3️⃣ The beach is rocky. ✨Don’t make the same mistake I made when visiting Mount Rainer National Park ⬇️ A D | @stio has given me code ASHLEYP-F2340 to get 40% until tomorrow. I’m wearing the Tipton Tech Half Zip and Stamped 5 Panel Hat in this photo. ✨So I went to Washington this past weekend to finally visit Mount Rainer National Park. I knew there was a good chance I would be pretty late to the party, but I had a few friends going so figured I’d try. Worst thing is we have a good time by a campfire. We were staying in Packwood instead of the more popular town of Paradise so we needed to cut through to Paradise to hike the Skyline Trail. Unfortunately, we get to a road closed sign without a plan B! It was already getting late in the day and we didn’t have much service so we just decided to find a nearby trail to hike. We found this Glacier Lake Trail near Packwood and we were the only people on the trail and at the lake the ENTIRE day! We did end up making it to Mount Rainer NP the next day by finding an alternate driving oute. ✨Everything to know before visiting: Pamukkale is located in southwestern Turkey, about 3 hours from Antalya. It is famous for its white terraces formed by calcium-rich thermal waters that flow down the mountainside. These terraces are what have inspired the name Pamukkale, which means “cotton castle” in Turkish. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the pictures on Google anymore. A lot of the pools have dried up, so visit soon! You can walk on these terraces and take a dip in some of the shallow pools, but you must walk on the terraces barefoot. At the top of Pamukkale’s terraces is the ancient city of Hierapolis, known for its well-preserved Roman ruins, including a theater, ancient streets, and a necropolis. In addition to Pamukkale and Hierapolis, you can explore Cleopatra Antique Pools. The pools even have ancient ruins at the bottom!
