Valentines present from the hubby. 😍

Christmas in Memphis 😍

Cold weather cuddles in my blankie. 😍

"The flower which is single need not envy the thorns that are numerous."β € β € Be your own person and love yourself and you will be a singular flower. πŸŒ»πŸŒΉπŸŒ·πŸŒΌβ € β € Bralette @amazonfashion β € Bandeau Top @boohooplus β € Kimono @boohooplus β € Capris @diaandco

"I'm not going to sacrifice my mental health to have the perfect body." -Demi Lovatoβ € β € How fabulous did Demi look singing the national anthem at the Superbowl this year? I was in awe watching her. She was just absolutely radiant and glowing. She looked so much healthier. A perfect body doesn't always mean you are healthy. Being truly happy physically and emotionally is what makes you healthy.

"Admire someone else's beauty without questioning your own." β € β € Over the years I have had all kinds of friends. Black, white, tall, short, skinny, fat. They were all beautiful in their own unique ways. I admired their beauty. For many, many years I was insanely jealous of my skinny friends. You know the kind...the hoes can eat a box of oreos, an entire pizza, and drink a twelve pack of soda in one sitting and never gain an ounce. Yet, here I am munching on a salad gaining pounds just for looking at a crouton. We all have that one friend, right? I love mine to death, and she is jealous because I have curves she doesn't. We have learned not to be jealous of each other. We admire each other's beauty, while loving our bodies the way we are. It took years of me coming to term with the fact I will never be 130 lbs and that's okay. I am more beautiful being thick. I did get down to 140 lbs very unhealthily with diet pills and I looked odd.

"A river cuts through rock, not because of its power but because of its persistence." James N. Watkins β € β € So many times I have failed. Failed at being a good wife. Failed at being a good mother. Failed at being successful with a business venture. Those failures are important because each of them taught me a lesson. It taught me to never give up. I may have failed at being a good wife at times, but my husband doesn't know how to do life without me. I'm the same way without him. I may have failed as a mother at times, but my kids need me. Persistence is what keeps you going. When you stop being persistent you give up on life. You give up on the pursuit of happiness. You give up on joy, love, family, the things that are truly important. You die, even if not externally, internally. Never give up. You are needed. You are wanted. You matter. You are loved.

"The first blooms of spring always make my heart sing." β € S. Brown β € β € Spring is finally upon us and I cannot be more excited. Although, today they are calling for chances of severe weather I am so happy to see the sun poking out from behind the clouds. Spring time is a time for renewal and new growth. I am learning new hobbies to help me renew and grow. What are you doing to help you grow? Tell me down below in the comments. πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡β€β € β € Outfit by @diaandco

"Wild woman- do not be afraid to dance alone." April Green β € β € One of my favorite pastimes when I was a young adult (technically still am), was dancing in the rain. I would blare a heavy metal band like In This Moment or Slipknot and sing and dance. I would do it when I was bored or stressed out. I was a young, single mom so life came with it's own set of problems. My absolute favorite time would be in the summer when the rain is warm and steady. No thunder, no lightening. Just a steady rain. I would grab my MP3 player, and head out in the backyard out of sight of everyone except the surrounding neighbors. Just me, my music, and the rain. Man, I miss doing that. My husband would probably look at me like I was insane if I did that now, granted he knows about my love for metal music. Don't be afraid to dance alone, or go out to eat alone, or go to the movies alone. Sometimes those moments when you are alone is when you will find your true happy place. My happy place is headbanging in the rain. 🀘❀

"A warm smile is the universal language of kindness." β € β € One of my other favorite quotes is "Smile because you never know who could be falling in love with it." When I first met my hubby, we were just friends. In fact, I was dating one of his best friends. A month after that relationship fell apart, my husband's oldest best friend sat hubby and I down and told us, "You like her, she likes you, now quit talking to me and talk to each other." We talked that night until the sun came up. He told me four years into our marriage my smile was one of the things that made him fall in love with me. I never even knew. So, smile ladies! You never know who could be falling in with your smile. Even if you don't want someone else to fall in love with your smile, maybe smiling more will help you fall in love with your own smile. 😁 Outfit by @diaandco

"Elegance is when the inside is as beautiful as the outside." Coco Chanel β € β € There was a time when I was anything but beautiful on the inside. I would sit with a girlfriend at our hangout spot. We would spend our time together talking about guys and making fun of the girls walking past. We were mean girls. Our favorite past time was talking sh*t about people. We would chuckle at our masterful wit. Looking back, I'm disgusted with that past version of myself. I should have been complimenting those girls instead of tearing them down. I challenge you to find one girl today and just tell her you like something about her appearance, outfit, shoes, etc. It doesn't have to be a long speech, just a "hey, I love that bag!" Smile and build up your fellow sister. It's hard enough being a girl. Don't be a mean girl. Dress by @amazonfashion

"Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will." β € β € You can never accomplish your dreams, unless you get up and try to fulfill them. The only thing you can do is fail. If you stay complacent and never try, you will never accomplish anything. Even if you fail, get back up and try again. Persistence is how you achieve anything in life. β € β € Outfit by @amazonfashion

"A scale can never measure your worth."β € β € You are more valuable than you'll ever know. You are loved more than you'll ever know. You are more beautiful and precious than you'll ever know. Know your worth and never let anybody tell you differently.

"I am obsessed with becoming a woman comfortable in my own skin." β € β € For the most part, I am comfortable in my own skin. I have days where I stumble and I feel self-conscious. On those days, I take a deep breath. I pick myself back up, and I correct my self-conscious behaviors. I boost my esteem back up by throwing on cute clothes, doing my hair, and fixing my face. I don't do it for anybody, just for myself. What do you do when you stumble in the war on self-loathing? β € β € Outfit by @diaandco

"Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you." Beyonceβ € β € Ya'll, the queen, has spoken. Be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you. The scars on my knees from where I fell playing outside during my childhood, the stretch marks on my belly as it grew with each life that grew inside of me, the scar on my wrist from getting pre-cancerous cells removed. All of these things mark pieces of my story. They make me who I am. I love each and every scar, each and every stretch mark, each chapter of my story. It's a reminder that it could end at any time and that I need to make the best of it while I am here on Earth. How do you make the best of every situation you go through? Let me know in the comments below! πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡β € β € Shirt @andreebyunit β € Jeans @clingersjeans
