POV You're living the good old days As a child, I (Ellen) would lose myself in my parents' photo albums, captivated by their college travels and dreaming of the day I'd embark on my own adventures with my person by my side. 💕 Sometimes, those memories come rushing back, and I'm overcome with gratitude for living in these moments that our future selves will fondly reminisce about. Getting professional photos taken of us again was long overdue. The last time was at our wedding, and we decided to treat ourselves to a special photoshoot in enchanting Santorini. At first, we hesitated, questioning whether it was worth the splurge. But when we received the final images, we immediately knew we had made the right choice. These photos capture our love, joy, and the magic of this breathtaking Greek island. This is how our year has gone since we posted our last video in March, maybe you’ve gone through a few of these things too and can relate: Celebrated my birthday surrounded by friends from around the city and country Left for France loaded up with hand sanitizer and spent an incredible few days in Paris before going to our housesit in Normandy Getting sick the first day in Normandy and staying sick for the next 8 weeks. Many cancelled flights and no reimbursement later, we’re on a plane back to the US Quarantining in our apartment where we didn’t step foot outside for fear that we had COVID and were going to give it to someone in our community Taking our temperatures twice a day In order to keep trying, even with the fear and scars from 2020 still welling up, I’m writing out plans and goals for 2021. I attempted to open this spreadsheet about halfway through the year and start over for 2020 but couldn’t make it through; The grief over a life that I had envisioned for myself was still too raw.

To clarify, there is a difference between winter travel tips and all other travel tips for Alaska because winter in Alaska is in a category of its own. Sure Your Car is Outfitted for Winter Winter tires, all-wheel-drive, ice scraper, emergency blankets, and maybe even an electric heater for the motor are all extra items to include in your car rental in Alaska in the winter. With the little bit of experience from living in Missouri for a few winters and a great car outfitted for winter (WINTER TIRES!), we were able to manage the roads in and around Anchorage just fine. – ice grippers are rubbery soles with small spikes on the bottom that can be stretched over basically any tennis shoe or boot to turn it into a winter weather appropriate shoe.
