Before George, my son, was born, I found this book and quickly picked it up. Even before he was here, Adam and I knew we wanted our son to grow up with love and respect for all people. No matter their race, religion, orientation, or whatever makes a person different. Since George's arrival this book has been a regular in our bedtime routine and we will continue to introduce him to black music, artists, visionaries, writers, people...etc. Not because they are black, but because every living being is an amazing member of our Universe in their own right and we must celebrate each other. Not bring each other down. Hatred is not the answer. Love is. #blm #equality

Today, I honor my father. Leland Stephen Coughlin, who served in the Army, Air Force, Air Force Reserves, Solano County Sherrif's Air Squadron, and in civilian Air Force maintenance divisions. He did not pass in the line of duty, but has been gone 15 years now, and I miss him dearly.
