Yay!! Visited my favorite restaurant in Portland, Maine @scalesrestaurantportland - it was perfect for golden hour dining experience 🥰 I love their catch of the day and specials. I lived in Maine for a couple of years, it’s great to see the growth in the city 😊 I’ve missed you guys! #maine #seafood #seefooddiet
A lovely visit to Maine, and I got to see my mom! She is half Japanese, half Scottish, we have family lining back to the Mayflower ship to Massachusetts, the “White” family. My ex husband and I purchased a couple homes in Biddeford, Pool, Maine. My mother has been living in the homes since we’ve split … really such a blessing that she can live happily. #maine #motherdaughter
The grand finale of my post to Peru! I was blessed to be toured around Peru by my brother’s Peruvian fiance and her family. Wow, I met all of her family, a few (a lot) more to go next time 😂. They are very much included in the tourism industry, with family owning lots of property, land, and tourism attractions. I wish there were more opportunities for the millennials of this world there, but anyway, she has found my brother, and they plan on coming back to the states where they can start a family. I wrote a letter of recommendation for their fiance visas. I was brought to this beautiful area of Moray, Peru. My brother’s fiance does not speak English at all 😂 so I got this tour around Peru in Spanish. My brother and I are half Spanish, our father is from Puerto Rico, so my original last name before marriage was Ramos. I’m now divorced, as most of you know. ✨
It was fascinating to visit the salt mines, Salineras de Maras. It was extremely noticeable that we were driving towards the terrestrial rains on top and beneath the maintains. It was a mini red dirt road to get to the base of the salt mines. The mineral salt water trickling through the mountains was discovered by the Inkas. When the rainy season ends, these salt pools will crystallize and turn white and pink, to be harvested and sold as various kinds of edible salts. #peru #saltmines
Walking and food tour of the city center of Cusco, Peru! I’m happy that Peru will be part of my extended family going forward 🥰 Nestled around 360 views of the city and mountains, it’s definitely an adventure to discover each corner. There’s a lot of commotion, cars, children, dogs running around, no traffic lights besides a couple. So, I think by now you know I’m not vegetarian, my favorite dishes included the local Trout. Just wow, this place is incredible!!! My brother’s fiance and her brother took us on a tour around Cusco, Peru, and their family runs this amazing place @mountainviewexperience 🥰 The private villas have pools where you can mingle with alpacas, overlooking the mountains. My photos do not do this place justice!! They also have bikes, four wheelers, horse back riding, I have no idea but my mind melted.
Final post from my trip to the Maldives 🫶 First time staying on a private island beach resort, able to walk around and explore, having my favorite form of food: soups and curries, love saucy foods also! My favorite activity was snorkeling and seeing a 6 foot long reef shark casually swim by me! Now back in NYC - I’ve been jet lagged to say the least, and unfortunately I got the flu virus which I’m finishing up now, thank the lord I can feel it ending. Next trip is in a couple days to Peru, to see my brother and his Peruvian fiance!
