I want to take a few minutes to reintroduce myself in the new year. My name is Mom. No, actually it's Cari, but I feel like it is mama most of the time. Here are a few things about me... 1. I'm EXTRA... always. I love lots of jewelry, bling everything, fake eyelashes, overdoing my eye makeup, and my big attitude fits. I do not ever wear lipstick or blush though. 2. I run a business working with brick-and-mortar businesses with their online presence and graphic design projects. I especially love creating logos. 3. I'm married to the love of my life. We are polar opposites in almost all ways. He humors me and my bling and projects, but keeps me grounded. He's very quiet... I'm very not. 4. We LOVE camping 5. I have two beautiful children (they are monsters in disguise). My 13-year-old son is the funniest human I have ever known, is the smartest kid I've ever met, and gives the best hugs. My 10-year-old daughter has a severe speech delay along with some other disabilities but she is highly intelligent, crafty, and cares for everyone and every plant and animal. 6. We have homeschooled for 10 years. We started our son at 3 because he wanted to learn his letters. Sitting around the table and learning with them is the best! What do you want to know about me?

I'm not sure how many of you know that I love to read and I have an obsession with history and facts. The military and different Asian cultures have been a major part of my life. I have been taught about WWII and the conflict between Japan and America from both sides. It is tragic but certain parts are beautiful. Wounded Tiger is a true story that shares one such beautiful story. Wounded Tiger is the true, character-driven story of the Japanese pilot who led the Pearl Harbor attack, an American prisoner of war, and a college girl who becomes the fulcrum of change in this epic book. Three incredibly different people's paths cross in ways so remarkable that it would be hard to believe if it weren't so well documented. This is a meticulously researched true story of hatred, love, revenge, and redemption. This is such a well-written book and I love the little nuggets of information sprinkled throughout. You can tell while reading that T. Martin Bennet really put effort into his research. I truly enjoyed this book and will be passing it on to another history lover. I was so excited to receive this Old Testament Handbook. I love seeing maps and reading about the relevant history when I'm studying my Bible.  My kids will soon start learning to dive deeper and understand deeper with their Bibles and this will be a wonderful resource for them in the future as well. Rory Feek is one of my family's favorite authors and musicians. We have loved following his journey for years with Joey and now with Indiana. I am in love with the one-room schoolhouse that is on his farm.  Once Upon The Very First Christmas is definitely one of the cutest Christmas books we have. It covers the story in a way that new readers can enjoy listening or reading to themselves. I think the illustrations are my favorite part. The kids are putting a nativity play together and you can find Rory throughout the book on his farm. My mom always directed the Christmas plays at church, so this was a nice way to reminisce.
