We had the most amazing time and Mexico City was such an amazing place to visit. This area is probably one of the most expensive areas and is often referred to as the “Beverly Hills” of Mexico City. The city’s most iconic landmark, Palacio de Bellas Artes, stands tall in the middle of the area and is surrounded by other famous landmarks in the city. Located in southern Mexico City, about an hours drive, you will find the famous canals of Xochimilco, also dubbed the Venice of Mexico.
This is a 1.2 kilometer boulevard that stretches through the heart of the city from the cruise port area in the south, all the way up to Plaça de Catalunya in the north. This is an amazing place to visit, especially for unbelievable views over the city. The fountain may be the main attraction; however, you will also find the Palau Nacional Art de Catalunya (Museum of Catalan Art) and the Las Arenas de Barcelona Commercial Centre (a shopping centre). Another popular square worth visiting is the Plaça de Catalunya which can be found at the top of Las Ramblas in the heart of the city.
Also nicknamed “The Mushroom”, the incredible modern structure located here is made out of wood and has been said to be the largest wooden structure in the world at 26m high. I decided to take part in the walking tour led by Hearts of Sevilla Free Tours because I wanted to learn more about the dance. He told us all about the history of the dance, showed us where Flamenco got started, told us about popular tourist traps to avoid and ended the tour at a popular place for free Flamenco performances. What makes the tour so special is that you get to walk around the area in Seville where Flamenco was actually born; in the area of Triana.
Alicante. This has to be the most famous and popular tourist attraction in Alicante. This is a great way for those who want some great views of the city on the way up. Plaza Mar 2 is the best indoor mall in the city with 120 shops, including the more popular brand names, a movie theatre and many children’s activities. This centre is located by the marina but is more of an entertainment complex complete with a movie theatre, restaurants, children’s play areas, exhibition space and some shops.
