My fellow preggos...how have you felt the effects of the pandemic on your pregnancy? As this pregnancy winds to a close, I'm reflecting on how different it's been from my other pregnancies. I got my BFP 3 weeks before quarantines began. During those 3 weeks Covid went from a virus in another country to oh crap, it could be here right now. I panicked a lot in those first few weeks. I was not happy. I felt trapped by quarantine but also scared of the virus. I was a hot mess 🤦‍♀️ But in the end, shelter in place has been a complete blessing for me and this pregnancy. I have loved having my Husband and the kids home. We have grown as a family and for the first time in a pregnancy I was able to just be slow and unrushed. I am lucky that my prenatal care has not been disrupted by covid, as I know it has for some moms (and wrongly so). I am bummed that our kids won't get to meet their new brother in the hospital, but so grateful that my Husband will get to be with me. Wishing all my fellow preggos a happy and healthy pregnancy!! Scrolling through social media the past 2 weeks I've seen many amazing, spaces parents have set up for their distance learning kids. Hey, that's great if you have the space and budget to set up a school-like space for your kids! But the fact is, many people don't...AND THAT IS OKAY! I wanted to talk about our set up, I purchased these bamboo trays on amazon for about $30 each (DM me for the link, they are great!) but you can also get plastic lap trays from @Michaels craft store for $5 and they will do the trick if your kids are using a light laptop like a chromebook. They are super portable as well and can be used on the floor or on a couch as well. If your student will be learning in bed, as mine are, make sure they are sitting up and it isn't totally obvious they are zooming from bed 😂 We all have to work with the space and budgets we have. If the best space for YOUR child to learn is on their bed, then that's where you should set them up!
