“This nation will remain the land of the free only as long as it is home of the brave.” — Elmer Davis, journalist & Peabody Award recipient It’s been a few years since I’ve been here, but this is one of my favorite spots in San Diego and one of the sweetest tributes. Thinking of all who served and all who’ve lost. #memorialday 🇺🇸🇺🇸

And with its fair share of exciting hot air balloon rides, incredible golf courses, enchanting Old Towns and bling-loving casinos – The only thing better than seeing one hot air balloon is seeing many more! While I did not stay in the hotel overnight, I was given a tour of its many facilities, including their stunningly beautiful spa and Vegas-worthy pool, called ‘The Cove.’ TRAVEL IN FURTHER BACK IN TIME IN OLD TOWN TEMECULA From Old Town Sacramento to Old Town San Diego, I love to wander past wooden boardwalks and imagine what life was like amongst these wooden 1800s storefronts.

When it comes to Voting — when the candidates tell you who they are with every word and action — hindsight should never be “2020.” . Today is #nationalvoterregistrationday. I believe 2016 was actually the most consequential election of my life. . But now it’s 2020. And you decide — do you want to sit back and watch someone who bragged about his ability to shoot someone on 5th Ave and have no one care stay in the White House? Is it any surprise he calls people “losers” and “suckers”? And shrugs for 200K from coronavirus, “it is what it is.” . A few options: I’ll scream, you’ll scream, we’ll all scream for ice cream sandwiches this good and Insta-friendly. Owned and operated by longtime Temecula residents, Devilicious jumped onto the national scene after appearing on the second season of Food Network’s “Great Food Truck Race. If you’re not cleaning up in in the casino, be sure to check out the many restaurants here as there’s sure to be something to tempt your palate. Of course, the meal’s true star was certainly the Oreo Cookie Ice Cream desert.

I haven’t been active on social media as of late. It’s important to share your voice— but also, it’s important to listen. There are so many voices in this world. And what is always, always, always important is to love. Today, of course, is #Juneteenth. It is an important day to commemorate. A very American holiday. It is also something to remember that it is not the day that Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation became official (that was Jan 1, 1863). Until June 19, 1965 when Union troops arrived in Texas, slavery was still the law in some of this land. Not all of history is beautiful. History is in many ways a working struggle to get things right. Juneteenth is a very American day, a day to commemorate, continue the conversation and continue the work.

Wine & Beer Tasting in Temecula

There are over 40 wineries to choose from and I was lucky to visit two on my trip: Vitagliano Vineyards & Winery is nestled on over ten stunning acres of rolling hills, panoramic views, waterfalls and ponds. The winery is a romantic setting which can be equally enjoyed for a day of wine tasting or any of their special events (movie nights, weddings, etc). It will be opening in a few months so be sure to call and plan your day beforehand, but it’s a must-visit if you love indulging in dry white wines and charming rosés amidst a setting of colorful artwork. Specialties of the house include beer with a blood orange IPA and a grapefruit IPA but the brewery always has a wide collection of brews available which are brewed in house.

Thank you. Thank you to the helpers. Thank you to the grocers, the truckers, the farmers, the delivery men and women, the surgeons, the nurses, the police, the firefighters, the food bank workers, everyone staying inside, and the media— among many others. Thank you all for fighting to keep us healthy, fed, protected — and informed. It’s my hope that after all of this, we can better appreciate how connected we all are. #stayhome

Psst! Are you a castle-obsessed princess in need of her very own palace… but looking for a something a little more local than what you might find storming the hills throughout Europe? Well, ‘home sweet home’ will never look as good as when you visit the biggest castle in the good ol’ US of A. One of the numerous homes of newspaper mogul (and one-time Presidential nominee) William Randolph Hearst, Hearst Castle is

Dear Paris, Dear France, ma cherie — J’taime. On #BastilleDay. Or everyday. On days we can’t travel. And days where we are able to visit. 🇫🇷 😘 🥖 🥰 🧀😍 🥐 ❤️ 🥂 🇫🇷🇫🇷

19 years ago, in the very early morning hours, there would’ve been towers behind me in that picture and thousands more people walking around on this earth. 19 years ago, along with everyone, I watched in frozen horror as plans dovetailed into those towers. The pain, the loss, the fear, the destruction, the heartache. Four years ago and one day, I was walking around Lower Manhattan and without planning to, stumbled here onto the memorials. I’m not particularly a fan of One WTC as it can’t help but remind me of what should be there and all that isn’t. I was not planning on coming but I was drawn to the memorial on that day. I remember there was a rainbow in the water below. I urge everyone to find yourself drawn here one day. Even when it’s hard. Because it’s hard... ❤️🍎❤️ #neverforget #nyciloveyou #remember #september11
