Stairway Accent Wall with KILZ® PVA Primer

Chris attacked every nail pop in our hallway with drywall compound to create a smooth finished surface, unfortunately there were so many we quickly realized the entire wall would need to be repainted. a few years ago I did a lot of research on the best primer for new drywall and drywall repairs – we have new unfinished drywall, drywall compound and previously primed & painted drywall. The KILZ® PVA primer did an excellent job hiding all the drywall repair – goodbye polka dot wall, I will not miss you!

Fall 2020 One Room Challenge: Our Entry & Upstairs Hallway

Yes friends, that is 3 years of nail pop fills, new drywall and drywall repair on full display when you first walk in our home. Remember the major renovation of our main floor in 2018 and our pretty new baseboards? Remember the paint and new handles we added to the front door last year? New cushion cover for the entry bench (exposed foam is not über practical)

Basement Kitchenette Reveal

She picked the DIAMOND 1 model which gives her lots of space to hand wash any dishes and also holds a drying rack (freeing up counter space!). For both the sink and faucet we picked the Cinder finish (a dark grey/black) to compliment the concrete look countertop and the brick-style backsplash tile. The fridge is an apartment size 24” counter depth model that has a compact little bottom freezer (great for ice cream) and the existing 18″ dishwasher is a big time saver. To try and keep as much stuff off the counter as possible, we moved the Ikea kitchen cart that was originally up in my office down to create a little coffee bar.
