I was talking to a friend the other day who said “I wish I could do what you do, I just don’t have the motivation you do.” 𝘓𝘦𝘵'𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘣𝘶𝘯𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨. Motivation is 𝘯𝘰𝘵 feeling excited and driven every day. It’s not jumping out of bed, excited or even happy about doing the thing you know you need to do - like exercise. It’s also not about your end game goal. And it’s 𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵 in comparing yourself to someone else who you are assuming feels the above. 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵. Or, at least I don’t. Most mornings I’m fighting with my snooze button and trying to find the reasons I should skip it today. I feel tired, and whine my way through the struggle. 𝘚𝘰, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘴 𝘮𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘶𝘱 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘰𝘶𝘵? 💥Routine. 💥Celebrating the small wins 💥Knowing that starting is 80% of the battle 💥Accountability from my group in both the morning motivation crew and the others in our virtual wellness studio 💥Leading by example for my studio and my kids 💥Knowing that I will 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 after getting the blood flowing and sweat dripping ❤️And all of that makes me a happier, better mom and human. So, let’s stop the 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦 and just do you because 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴.
