In a turn of events we now have some extra work to do from a water leak 🙃 After we tackled the main mess of it and then had a glass of wine 🍷 I realized this is another (big) example that things rarely go as planned during a renovation and you have to be prepared to problem solve and pivot when necessary. Aside from snacks on the job site and getting to rip things apart, it’s….. Finding the hidden potential 💫 Starting a project I always have plans and ideas for so many spaces. But sometimes there’s a spot or two that remain a mystery until you really get your hands on it. This room has been one I was looking forward to working on because I’ve had some ideas but nothing has totally felt like the right fit. Once we got out the flooring and took down 3 layers of window coverings, I lit up inside with a new love and vision for this room 🥰 Just a reminder that you may not always see the potential in every space from the start but have faith you will find the vision the works for you. I switched up a few things and tried some new this year so lets take a Christmas home tour! This year I switched out to a new garland from the past couple years. The layered garland on this mantel may just be my favorite thing in the house this year. This last photo is one of my favorites because a fun holiday mug and cozy slippers are some of the best things about enjoying Christmas.
The best part is we brought a ton of blankets and some throw pillows, put down the third row and made the back super comfy so we could all sit together and watch. We spent an entire day driving out in the country (also where Jesse grew up) and making a few fun stops. As a mom my favorite part about the Tahoe is the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension which one of it’s many benefits is lowering the car when parked! Jack and Lily’s favorite part was their own personal screen but mostly the ability to screen share with others in the car.
I’m so excited for my favorite time of year! Enjoying the season festivities like seeing lights, enjoying hot chocolate and watching Christmas movies are some of my favorite things to enjoy with my family and I’m sure some of yours too. I really wanted to focus on taking the stress out of the holiday shopping process for you so you can use that time to enjoy the things you love. And don’t forget that what means most to our family and friends is the gesture of giving a gift and the thought of giving, not how much you spend or give!
We recently added a little bar cart to our dining space to create some fun set ups while staying at home this season. First I filled in the space with some decor like mini trees, lights, and a cake stand to vary the height a little. Next I added all the hot chocolate components including hot chocolate mix in a cute jar, candy canes and some toppings (mini marshmallows, crushed candy canes, and mini chocolate chips). Another fun piece I added to the cart was this little Hot Chocolate sign!
