Day 5 of #top2020skincare (hosted by @devsday & @goalstogetglowing) is Vitamin C Serums // If y’all can’t tell, I truly love @oneloveorganics! They create amazing products that are formulated to build the strength of the skin. This is definitely true for the Botanical C Facial Serum 🤗 which is why I love it for sensitive skin!⁣ ⁣ So first of all, what is vitamin C? It is an antioxidant that helps to protect your skin from free radical damage, evens skin tone, & promotes collagen production. Vitamin C is a great ingredient for maintaining healthy skin which is why it is so frequently talked about.⁣ ⁣ That said, this OLO vitamin C serum is not like any other vitamin C I’ve tried but what makes it so different? The Botanical C Serum contains vitamin C ester which is a moisturizing & more stable derivative of vitamin C. It also has an oil consistency. Whereas, a lot of other vitamin C serums tend to be water-based & use l-ascorbic acid or another vitamin C derivative that tends to be exfoliating. These exfoliating forms of vitamin C are what help with skin lightening, dark spots, & hyperpigmentation. So if that is what you are looking for in a vitamin C, this is probably not the product for you. However, those ingredients can be harsh for anyone with very sensitive skin.⁣ ⁣ I particularly love this serum because it utilizes a moisturizing and stable form of vitamin C. So it may not be a formula that is going to lighten any existing dark spots or hyperpigmentation but it does help to fight free radicals damage which is what causes the dark spots & aging in the first place. So I like to think of it as preventative.⁣ ⁣ It also contains Extract of Hops and what OLO calls the Plant-powered C Complex which is a blend of rosehip, baobab, acerola, & seabuckthorn to promote a radiant complexion. As well as, Vitamin E and Green Tea Oil to help boost the antioxidant profile in the serum! ⁣ ⁣ As with several other OLO products, I absolutely love this serum! It’s perfect for anyone with sensitive skin who is wanting to build skin strength & a radiance boost!

“I believe that all women are pretty without make up – but with the right make up can be pretty powerful.” -Bobbi Brown⁣ ⁣ To say I’m excited about the @jonesroadbeauty launch is an understatement. Bobbi Brown Cosmetics was the first makeup brand that I fell in love with when my sister & I first started using their Skin Foundation probably 15 years ago! ⁣ ⁣ I have always loved Bobbi’s philosophy around makeup. So when I saw that she was launching a new cosmetic line, I had no choice but to get a few of the products to try 🤗. My sister & I immediately put the products to use when the package was delivered last weekend! ⁣ ⁣ We are both wearing the Miracle Balm in bronze, Just A Sec eyeshadow in linen, Sparkle Wash in Midas, & the mascara. On Karli, I applied some bronzer to her eyes beneath Just A Sec & Sparkle Wash. For myself, I only applied Just A Sec and Sparkle Wash on the eyes. ⁣ ⁣ First impressions the products are amazing! I still need to use them some more to have full thoughts but I’m very impressed! 👉🏼 Swipe to the end to see what happens when you give two beauty loving sisters new makeup & a camera to play with 😂

December is finally here & today starts #top2020skincare, a challenge created by @devsday and @goalstogetglowing 🤩 ⁣ Day 1: First Cleanse // When it comes to a first cleanse, I always look for a product that...⁣ 1. removes all the makeup (including eye makeup), SPF, & dirt/oil from the day ⁣ 2. Washes off without leaving any residue on the skin⁣ 3. Isn’t drying & is gentle on my sensitive skin⁣ ⁣ For me, the @oneloveorganics Botanical B Enzyme Cleansing Oil is exactly that! It removes everything that I might have on my skin while maintaining the skin’s moisture barrier & pH. ⁣ ⁣ Ingredient Highlights:⁣ + Botanical B Complex - a blend of papaya, pumpkin, & sunflower oils which are all sources of moisture-boosting Botanical B. They provide this formula with non-stripping cleansing action for a smooth finish.⁣ + Papain & Papaya Enzymes - Gently exfoliate the pores while also evening out skin tone to help you achieve glowing skin.⁣ ⁣ & to make it even better, this cleansing oil smells amazing! It has a pineapple & citrus scent that all but transports you to a tropical island while you wash your face 🍍🏝⁣ ⁣ Tip: Make sure to first apply this cleanser to dry skin. Then once you’ve rubbed it in a bit, add warm water to emulsify the formula. This creates a milky consistency that will help to break down anything on your skin. Massage it in & then rinse clean!

Whatever makes you feel the sun from the inside out chase that. ⁣ ⁣ -Gemma Troy⁣ ⁣ ⁣ If there one thing that 2020 has brought, it’s discovering so many new amazing products! The @makeupforever Reboot foundation, @uomabeauty Double Take Contour Stick in Fair Lady, & @aetherbeautyco Ametrine Crystal Eyeshadow Quad are just a few of my new favorites & were used to create this soft rosy neutral look 🤗

#happythanksgivng y’all!! The holiday may look a little different this year, but I’ve found that there is still so much to be thankful for! & here’s to hoping we can go back to normal Thanksgiving celebrations again next year! Stay safe 🤗

Too young to be this old 😂 ⁣ ⁣ Y’all, my 27th birthday was this past Saturday & I had planned to put together a long, sappy list of 27 things I’ve learned over the years (because I genuinely love to read that kind of post myself)! But to be honest life got crazy, 27 things is a lot, & I’m not sure I could even fit it in an Instagram post 🤷🏻‍♀️. ⁣ ⁣ So instead I decided to share a few of my favorite skincare & makeup tips. Swipe for some of the beauty wisdom I’ve gained in my short 27 years of life 👉🏼

The weather may be cooling down but I’m definitely still looking for a little bit of that summer glow ✨ You may think I’m crazy for what I’m going to say (honestly sometimes I agree lol).. but I’ve been self-tanning for about 5 years now and I swear that I have a lot fewer flare ups when I’ve got a little tan. For some reason it keeps my skin so much calmer than it is without some extra color. Has anyone else experienced this? Or am I the only one? 😂 I’ve tried looking up studies or articles to see if there is any real science behind my theory with no luck 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyways if you are looking for a gradual tan, this lotion by The Organic Pharmacy is great for a little extra color. You won’t look like a bronze goddess after using it but between this lotion & the Isle of Paradise tanning water, you can have everything you need to keep your skin glowing!

I’ve spent some time this week playing with the new @makeupbymario Master Mattes Pro Lip Palette & y’all... it is so much fun! The chemist in me loves having the ability to experiment with the different shades to see what color I can create 😍👩🏻‍🔬 Honestly, this lip palette is perfect for any makeup artist to have in their kit but also for anyone who just really loves to play around with color. It comes with 16 shades: 12 nude, pink, & red tones and also 4 primary colors for mixing. It really gives you the opportunity to create any lipstick shade that you could ever want! Yes, the primary shades can seem a little intimidating at first but here’s everything you need to know about mixing them with the other shades. + Yellow: lightens & warms up the shade + White: lightens the color + Blue: deepens & cools + Black: darkens & creates rich colors With these primary colors and all of the other shades in this lip palette, you really can create any lip color that you could want! It also helps that it is a great lip formula that has a comfortable matte finish with A LOT of pigment! I mixed a little bit of the primary blue with LP9 which is a true red to create the lip color pictured. It turned out to be a beautiful deep berry color! I’ve always had a passion for mixing colors to see what I could create. So this is right up my alley. But I’m curious y’all, is this a type of product that interests you too? Do you think it’s fun to mix colors and create your own lipstick shades? Or would you rather save yourself time & just have multiple different lipsticks in the different shades?

Do you struggle with dry, flakey winter skin? Girl, I’ve been there. I know the pain of layering every hydrating product you can find in hopes of quenching your skin’s need for moisture.. but to then either still have that tight, dryness on the face or the heavy feeling of an extremely thick cream that just sits on top of the skin without ever actually sinking in or providing any real moisture. ⁣ ⁣ If this sounds familiar, I have to suggest trying out these few products from Caudalie. They have honestly been a saving grace for me during the cold Midwest winters.⁣ ⁣ Caudalie’s Grape Water is a product that I’ve definitely talked about before & everything still stands true. It’s an amazing facial mist that truly hydrates the skin and has a million different uses throughout any skincare & makeup routine. Grape Water has been a staple product for me for well over 5 years now & it is not going anywhere anytime soon.⁣ ⁣ Although while I can’t live without my grape water, the two standout products for winter skin are the Vinosource S.O.S. Intense Hydration serum & moisturizer. The serum is packed full of grape water, hyaluronic acid, and olive-derived squalane to help moisturize, hydrate, plump, and soothe the skin. The humectants in this formula help to provide hydration & attract water into the skin. Whereas, the moisturizer does a lot of the same but also includes more occlusives such as borage oil to help trap in the moisture for longer lasting moisturization. It honestly has the most beautiful cream consistency that hydrates the skin better than any other moisturizer I have ever tried (& I’ve tried a lot 😳). Use these two products together & your dry skin will definitely be thanking you!!⁣ ⁣ Lastly, if you struggle with dry hands from the cold air outside or even the excessive hand washing that we are all doing right now, you have to try Caudalie’s hand & nail cream! It makes your hands feel so soft & my nails have never been as strong as they have been since I started consistently using this hand cream 🙌🏼. It also instantly sinks into your skin. So you aren’t stuck with that greasy feeling that a lot of other hand lotions leave.⁣

I’m just going to leave this here for you 🤗

Alright so I’m a little behind on the Sephora sale post... but we have access to the sale through Monday, 11/9, & it is always a great time to try out a few products that you have had your eye on or to stock up on some favs! So I’m here to share some of my favorite base products that you can get on sale right now! It’s a good mixture of clean, conventional, light coverage, & full coverage products. There’s definitely something for everyone 🤗 My Foundation & Concealer Recommendations: + @makeupforever Reboot Active Care Revitalizing Foundation - light coverage, satin finish. It’s the perfect everyday, light coverage to smooth out the complexion. + @hourglasscosmetics Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick - full coverage & flawless satin finish. This is a long time favorite of mine. The stick gives the easiest application & it always looks so good on the skin! + @bitebeauty Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation - medium coverage, satin skin-like finish. + @toofaced Born This Way Multi-use Concealer - such a versatile product! It applies beautifully as a concealer & as foundation! Full coverage without being drying. + @kosas Revealer Concealer - beautiful eye treatment that provides medium coverage. What are your favorites?! I always love trying new products 🤗

“You are art. Create yourself over & over”⁣ .⁣ .⁣ I am officially obsessed with the new @tower28beauty cashew milky lip jelly! Their ShineOn lip jellies have been a favorite lip gloss of mine since they launched. The formula gives the perfect glossy sheen to the lips but is not sticky at all. The new milky jelly’s have the same beautiful texture & shine but come in stunning milky colors. Cashew is the perfect rosy brown “your lips but better” shade & I cannot get enough of it! 💋 ⁣ 👉🏼 Swipe to see cashew milky jelly without a filter.

Let’s talk Exa Beauty! I’ve been waiting for this launch for several months now. I honestly had no clue what to expect but it definitely did not disappoint! @exa.beauty is Credo’s new private label cosmetic brand & what is there not to love?! ⁣ ⁣ 👉🏼 Swipe for a detailed review on the foundation & to see how it wears on my skin!

Another day, another natural skin look ✨⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’m wearing the new @exa.beauty foundation and primer! I’ve been testing them out for the past week or so & have some thoughts that I’m planning to share in a more detailed post tomorrow. So stay tuned but in the meantime, I’ll say that I’m definitely impressed 🤗

“The best project you will ever work on is yourself.” ⁣ ⁣ Recently I’ve been struggling with feeling like I need to do so much. It all has to be done quickly yet perfectly because I have a million other things on my to-do list... but I also don’t want to compromise on the quality of my work by rushing. It‘s been an internal war trying to figure it all out which has honestly caused me to be less productive. Instead I find myself falling into the mindless scroll because it gives me the chance to forget all of the things that I “need” to do for a bit of time.⁣ ⁣ I know I’m not the only one who has been feeling this way. So I’m here to tell you, it’s ok. Nobody cares about your life as much as you do. So why do we put such hard expectations on ourselves instead of just being happy with life? Yes, I have very big dreams & aspirations but that doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy where I am at now. ⁣ ⁣ The best project we will ever work on is ourselves. So it’s important to know that every project starts off a little messy... but as you keep on working, things start to come together! So let’s learn to appreciate the journey. Let’s learn to love where we are at in life while still dreaming big & working towards those goals 🤗⁣
