Are you looking for a tiki bar on a boat, DC has one! Whitlow’s, the local bar which used to be in Clarendon and but is now DC, is partnering with Sea Suite Cruises to create Whitlow’s on Water @whitlowsonwater #gifted Whitlow’s on Water is a 48-passenger tiki boat. The boat has curated playlists, a bathroom, party lights, and 2 TV’s. Whitlow’s on Water has a canopy & retractable window covers for any weather. Enjoy beer, wine, seltzers, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks and sodas. You can even grab snacks on board like chips or bring your own food during sightseeing tours. Book out the whole boat for a private event, or buy a couple individual tickets to join a community cruise. And if you have friends or family visiting, check out the Tiki Tour. Whitlow’s on Water 📍: Georgetown – 3100 K St NW. I love catching up with friends and checking out a new spot at the same time, and I finally got to check out Almeda, a Black woman-owned restaurant in DC. Almeda celebrates the Diaspora through Afro-Fusion cuisine. The menu includes some nice call backs to familiar dishes, like fish and spaghetti, and an interpretation of dishes I’ve come to know and love in my adulthood like the Jollof Risotto. The portion sizes are just right, the Risotto was actually pretty generous. Do not pass up the dessert. The cake reminded me of my Auntie’s, but the drizzle of cream over top, shards of raspberry chocolate, and moat of toasted coconut surrounding the mini Bundt takes it to another level. I plan to go back to try other dishes for sure!! I highly recommend any of the dishes, but the awaze galbi ribs are a must, along with the jollof risotto, tostone doubles, and the fried catfish and spaghetti. To support more Black woman-owned businesses head over to my bio for a list of 30+ Black Woman-owned Restaurants in the DC area. Black woman-owned | DC | Restaurants | Washington DC | DMV | Small Business | Black Owned | Black Food Fridays | DC Dining | DC Foodies | Black Food Blogger 📍: Almeda 828 Upshur St NW, Washington, DC 20011

There’s a new brunch option in town! Sundays are for brunch DC and Opaline @opalinedc is joining the party with their new brunch menu. #sponsored I was invited to come try it out in opening day and I’m glad I did. We had to start off with mimosas, you can add bottomless mimosas if you want, which is never a bad move. For bites, the Pastrami Hash was my favorite bite, the pastrami was so well seasoned. The crab cakes had a nice crisp from panko. After a dash of salt the steak and eggs were perfect, the chimichurri on top set it off. Ending with the Petite Belgium waffles was a good move. They’re topped with Nutella mousse but I recommend adding syrup as well. Opaline now offers brunch every Sunday from 11:30am – 2:30pm. Opaline is located in the Sofitel Hotel DC @sofiteldc in Lafayette Square. Note: This was a complimentary brunch. I did tip the staff for their service. #Brunch #New #BlackBloggers #BlackFoodBloggers #BlackFoodBlogger #DMVBlackFoodies #BlackFoodies #BlackFoodie #BlackWomen #InstaFood #FoodBlogger #FoodGram #BlackGirlMagic #BlacksWhoBlog #DCFoodBlogger #DCFood #DCFoodie #DMVEats #DCEats #EaterDC #YelpEatsDC #BestFood #DeliciousFood #FoodiesOfInstagram #SnacksOnSnacks

This year I’m embracing being a local tourist. Loudoun Virginia is about an hour outside of DC and when a foodie friend invited me out for the day I was intrigued. we actually considered moving out that way before we settled in DC. There is plenty in Loudoun to eat, drink and see. We ate big biscuits, shopped at a local boutique, stopped in a quaint little bookstore, slurped oysters, and washed them down with a winery tour. I had a great day exploring Loudoun, but it wouldn’t be a true staycation without a hotel. If ya’ll have any recommendations for hotels in the area drop them down in the comments! ——————- Video Description: Takera tagging along with her foodie friend @feedthemalik exploring Loudoun County Virginia. #TravelBlogger #FlyingFoodie #TravelAddict #DMVBlackFoodies #Blackgirlswhoblog #DCist #BlackTravelgram #TravelTuesdays #SoloTravel #MyTravelGram #IGTravel #Wanderlust #Nomadness #TravelJunkie #BlackGirlsTravelToo #TravelNoire #BlackTravelGram #BlackTraveler #BlackTravel #BlackTravelFeed #MyTravelCrush #TravelIsTheNewClub #JetsettingChicks #SistersAndSuitcases #Travel #Funday #CheapFlights #BlackOwnedBusiness

THINGS TO DO IN MARYLAND: I’m a music and dance girlie. Me and friends used to sit in the backyard and make up choreography to all our favorite songs, so when the Spanish Diner @spanishdiner reached out and told me about their Flamenco lessons I was ready. #sponsored Mariana, the instructor was super patient with all of us. She took her time to teach us each step and pull it all together to make us all look good. And after our lessons she even gave us a whole performance. The Flamenco lessons are for adults and kids. After you get all your dancing out for the evening, grab a glass of sangria. Flamenco lessons come with sangria, paella, and flan. If you can’t make Flamenco lessons on Mondays, check out the dance performances during brunch on the weekends. The lessons are about 45 minutes and I enjoyed it, especially for something different to do. Note: This was a complimentary lesson. I did tip the staff and the flan was the best I ever had so they’ve made a new customer out of me. #Supportlocal #Buylocal #LocalEats #BlackFoodie #BlackFoodies #Dance #LocalBusiness #WhereToEat #MustEat #BlackFoodBloggers #BlackFoodBlogger #DMVBlackFoodies #BlackBloggers #DCFoodBlogger #DCFood #DCFoodie #DMVEats #BestFoodDC #DMVFood #DCEats #EaterDC #YelpEatsDC #BestFood

Bronze @bronzehst blends food and fantasy with the culture of the African Diaspora as a foundation. The decor and menu work hand in hand to tell the story of the fictional Alonzo Bronze. From the art featuring Black faces, to the lighting, cocktails, entrees, and desserts, Bronze is serving stories through food. Bronze is a Black Owned fine dining experience. The flavors are layered. There are options for everyone, including meat and veggie eaters. My favorite bites were the Torched Oysters, Charred Yuzu Squid, Grilled Sea Bass, Grilled Poulet which comes with a mouthwatering Cashew Bird’s Eye Glaze. Get the Wild Mushrooms if you’re a Mushroom fan like me. And do not leave without trying the Guava Cheese Doughnut. It’s a light dessert that’s not overly sweet. Make a reservation, it can get busy. Check out their Black Future prix fixe menu available until 2/28. #TravelBlogger #FlyingFoodie #TravelAddict #BlackFoodie #DMVBlackFoodies #BlackOwned #Blackgirlswhoblog #WineBlogger #WhiskeyBlogger #BlackPhotographers #WineAndSpirits #BestFoodFeed #EaterDC #condenast

That time I wandered around LA on my own 😎. Yes there is Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills, but there is more to LA than what we see on TV. I’ve traveled to LA three times, and each time I’ve had a different experience. On my last trip I felt like I had a whole adventure. I met a foodie friend that I had only known virtually for years. I also met an Aunt and My Grandfather for the first time, thanks to @ancestry . I also took some time to just explore the city on my own. I saw a few of you say you’ve been to LA recently or it’s on your list of places to visit. If you are a foodie looking for things to do in LA check out my solo weekend itinerary At FlightsandFoods.com or click the link you know where. I’ll be traveling back to LA in a couple months so if you have suggestions for things to do in LA drop them in the comments! #TravelBlogger #FlyingFoodie #TravelAddict #BlackFoodie #DMVBlackFoodies #Blackgirlswhoblog #wineblogger #WhiskeyBlogger #BlackPhotographers #WineAndSpirits #BestFoodFeed #EaterLA #condenast #marriottbonvoy
