The Modius Review {Part 1

So when the team at Modius asked if I’d like to try out their revolutionary weight-loss headset, I literally jumped at the chance. I’m going to be testing out Modius for 90 days; wearing the headset for 5-7 days a week, for an hour a day. It would be amazing to think that I could maintain my weight while I’m away, I’m not going to diet. I’m going to try and not think about it at all in fact; but I am going to take Modius with me and  try to have an open mind.

Broadening my Cornish Horizons by The Twinkle Diaries

But whilst the Met are (understandably) a little bit more cautious — simply stating ‘well above average’ temperatures — it did strike me that the ‘staycation’ is definitely a good option when the weather is set to be glorious on home turf. We vowed to go back there, so I’ve been scouring a fab website called Cornish Horizons, that have a massive selection of holiday cottages all over Cornwall. We loved our time at St Mawes too, so I’m pretty sure that Cornish Horizons will have loads more amazing properties, in dozens of towns and villages, that we’ve never explored before. One thing’s for sure, if you’re after a holiday cottage in Cornwall, you’ll be totally spoilt for choice.

Getting excited about this year's Bluedot Festival byt The Twinkle Diaries

Every year, since they’ve been alive, my little sons have been to Shambala festival; and for the last 4 years, they’ve been to Camp Bestival. And, if that wasn’t enough, this year marks 50 years since man first set foot on the moon and — as Jodrell Bank played a unique role in tracking the Eagle Lander onto the surface — I’m bookmarking Kate Tempest and 808 State (who I’ve seen before) but also really eager to see GoGo Penguin; a three piece band from Manchester, who blend jazz with electronica and trip-hop. I’m looking forward to seeing talks by Helen Sharman — the first British astronaut — plus Liz Bonnin on The Problem with Plastics.

The Art of Stress Management {Win a spa day voucher!}

We were asked to take readings at a perceived ‘stressful time of the day’ (ie the kids’ tea time or bedtime) — first thing in the morning when we awoke — and again after our spa day experience. It just goes to show that ordinary daily life can sometimes take it’s toll and — equally — a few hours spent relaxing at a spa can work wonders for reducing stress. One lucky winner will be given an indulgent spa days voucher, which will offer you a choice of 600 experiences; some are spa access plus a meal I was given the HRV4 Training smartphone app — and an indulgent spa day for two — for the purposes of this post, and they have kindly given another voucher for me to giveaway.
