Celebrating the Goddess with Utsava Maa in Rajasthan, India

Shri Jasnath Asan falls within the Hatha Yoga lineage and conducts various Yoga programs in its Rajasthan Hatha Yoga Institute. Veteran Yoga therapist and Ayurveda practitioner, Shreejan Sita opened the festival with a brief history of the Goddess, the purpose of Shakti in the world, the story behind the founding of Utsava Maa and the founding of Shri Jasnath Asan. Volunteer at New Light, Kolkata With Sneh Gupta of Indiability Foundation, Elizabeth Gilbert and Dr. Kristen Ali Eglinton of Footage Project The world knows she has a way with words, but what we found out is that she has an even better way with her quiet empathy, impromptu hugs, sharing her vulnerability and making everyone around her want to live a life steered by curiosity and enchantment.

How to Make 2020 Your Year

There are many ways you can get the mental health relief traveling has to offer without spending a lot of money. One way you can move past this mindset, and a way you can achieve even stronger mental health, is through the power of mindfulness. Having the occasional bad night’s rest won’t kill you at the end of the day, but if you’re always getting poor sleep, this can lead to some serious mental and physical effects, not just feeling tired all day. It’s early in the year, so don’t worry but also begin to think about how you want the year to turn out!

Utsava Maa - A Celebration of Sisterhood & Shakti in the Thar Desert, Rajasthan

In its third year now, the festival is designed to facilitate personal exploration, growth & creativity through a vibrant program of daily yoga, talks, workshops, ceremonies, documentaries, traditional and contemporary arts, warmed by nightly artistic performances, live music, dance, Puja & fire dancing ceremonies. 🌞 One of whom happens to be the no-intro-needed wonderful Elizabeth Gilbert and another is the unstoppable Urmi Basu, founder of the non-profit organization New Light where she works to save girls from sexual exploitation and to improve lives of the children of sex workers. Veteran Yoga therapist and Ayurveda practitioner, Shree will open the festival with brief history of the goddess, the purpose of Shakti in the world, the story behind the founding of Utsava Maa, and the founding of Shri Jasnath Asan. Looking forward to tons of new & old friends, firing up creative energies, igniting our Shakti to new levels, and refueling our selves for all our challenges 🙌 Hope to see you there!

Things to Do in Hoi An, Vietnam

An old riverside town on Vietnam’s central coast, Hội An stands about 30 km and a few centuries from the big city bustle of Da Nang. I was clearly glad about that: Perks of showing up bright and early at Hoi An’s Ancient Town Folk song classes every evening near the Japanese Bridge in Ancient Town. Run by hearing and speech impaired locals since 2012, this tea house is a traditional wooden house on one end and a full-fledged workshop with several artisans busy at work on the other end facing the Thu Bon River. Hoi An by night gets a wee bit more magical: Thu Bon riverside walks can get crowded in the evenings but if you wander away into the smaller streets, you’ll run into corners like these in Ancient Town.
