Drake Laments Lack of Rihanna "Fairytale", Then Brings Chris Brown on Stage

He joked about his tumultuous private life, quipping, "I don't have the fairy tale, 'oh, Drake started a family with Rihanna...so perfect'" (watch the clip here). And he fan-boy'd over Adele on Instagram, writing about how excited he was that she came to his concert in Los Angeles after she praised him on Twitter: Drake's history with Brown is long and complicated (if you want a timeline broken down into 25 separate moments, here you go), but suffice it to say that in terms of rap beefs, Drake was being the bigger person by giving Brown a bit of his spotlight. However, the message we are receiving is that a year into the #MeToo movement, when women including Rihanna are publicly advocating for equal societal treatment and opportunity, and despite positioning himself as a sensitive guy in touch with his feelings, Drake thought it was a good idea to surprise his audience with a known abuser.

Let Rihanna Headline Coachella

Sure, Beyoncé’s conquering of Coachella’s stage is still fresh in our memories, and the next edition of the festival is more than two seasons away, but the Internet is already buzzing with rumors of who may headline the Southern California music festival/annual conference of Instagram influencers. HITS Daily Double: Promoters are in talks with Childish Gambino, Justin Timberlake, and Kanye West to headline the three nights of the fest next year. There are numerous reports she’s been working on a new album (either reggae or dance music influence, depending on which rumors you’ve heard), and she’s taken to alerting her followers that new music is coming soon. Honestly, She’d Be Better Than the Rumored Other Choices Gambino is a solid and relevant choice, sure, but Timberlake’s last album flopped, and Kanye is, well, doing what it is Kanye is prone to do.
