Updating Kitchen Dining Area with Mohawk Home

One of those areas that was never fully completed was our kitchen dining space, so we are thrilled to finally be finishing this area now, complete with new dining chairs, refinished kitchen table and our brand new area rug from Mohawk Home! When it came to coming up with the kitchen redesign last year, I’ll be honest in saying that the dine-in area in the kitchen was the one part of that kitchen that there wasn’t much to do with in terms of renovation. So, we’ve finally had time to refinish the table, get new chairs and add in a beautiful area rug from Mohawk Home to now bring this renovation all together! And you know it’s a wonderful rug when it not only looks amazing in the room, but it’s become your dog’s favourite new resting place!

Modern French Kitchen Renovation: One Room Challenge REVEAL

Today is finally REVEAL day for our modern french kitchen renovation that we’ve been working on for the last eight weeks, alongside the One Room Challenge! It’s legitimately not the same space as we not only gutted it, but we actually took down the wall that separated the previous kitchen and the dining room (which you can see in the back, although we never used it as a dining room). So once the decision was made that we would finally renovate the kitchen, we knew that it was going to be a complete gut job, removing the load-baring wall between the two spaces and almost doubling our kitchen space. When it comes to designing a space like this, I feel like it’s important to have high/low options mixed throughout to not only help save on your budget but also to give you a more custom look.

Modern French Kitchen Renovation: One Room Challenge Week 8 BLANCO Sink

Welcome to Week/Update 8 of our Modern French Kitchen Renovation with the One Room Challenge where today we talk about our dreamy, apron BLANCO sink! So, it should come as no surprise that when we started planning this kitchen renovation, we went straight to BLANCO Canada and got the apron front sink! The BLANCO Canada IKON sinks are all made in Canada made of SILGRANIT which is a non-porous, high-quality granite composite which is heat, scratch and stain resistant! I find that the BLANCO IKON apron sink fits perfectly into this transitional design –
