I’ve heard the joke, “I’d like to go to Bora Bora, but then I’d be too Poora Poora” more times than I can count. After years of squirreling away those points, I’d acquired enough to cover two international flights to Tahiti and a stay in a premium overwater bungalow at Le Meridien Bora Bora. In addition, I have another travel rewards credit card, Barclaycard, where I applied points to other travel expenses (such as inter-island flights). As I mentioned above, unless your resort offers complimentary shuttle service, you’ll need to pay per trip per person to leave your resort to the main island.
The tour is more than stopping at roadside fruit stands, throwing back shots at a distillery, making fresh coconut milk on a beach, and eating all the food a stomach can fit; it’s a food tour that encourages confidence to try new exotic foods and leaves guests with a greater understanding of Tahitian culture (oh, and a very, very full belly). The grapefruit tastes distinctly different, in a good way (as someone who typically doesn’t like grapefruit, I couldn’t get enough of the Tahitian grapefruit… When the French arrived in Tahiti, they brought along their French culinary influence, including the patisserie, or French bakery. Home to the frequently photographed Kirkjufell Mountain, Snaefellsnes Peninsula is also home to a less towering wild wonder: natural mineral springs where you can drink water straight from the ground. We visited two natural springs on Snaefellnes Peninsula: Okelda Mineral Spring and Raudamelsolkeda Mineral Spring. *wink* My personal opinion: the Iceland mineral springs in this post have positive reviews online, stating that they are natural springs that are safe to drink from. If that’s the case, I’d like to think that a drink from these natural mineral drinking springs could help you live forever.
