some basic sxsw info! tips x local spots I always escape out of town to go photograph a drag racing event during sxsw week BUT you might be the opposite and want to jump into the excitement of events & activations! ❌ in town for sxsw? ❌ I’ve provided some great local spots I recommend and their distance from the convention center! ⚡️ south by fyi tips ⚡️ 〰️ wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for cold, hot, & rain. 〰️ don’t drive because parking is tough & many streets are closed. exciting news! I’m officially a full-timer at @leroyandlewis ! tldr; been a fan&friend of L&L team, working festivals with them & mama fried but now I’m helping open their brick&mortar – which is open to the public wednesday february 28 11am-9pm for their soft opening. 🎉 — through atx fyi I have immensely grown my appreciation for food, the science, the nutrition, the operations, the food trucks (and their teams), etc. I was a nutrition major for several years back when I was bodybuilding and wanted to help people realize how important nutrition is, even when we’re super active; this is where my love for food flourished. I have been following @evanleroybbq since the freedmen’s days – it was the first bbq joint I visited in austin just days after moving here and I fell in love. in 2017, him and the lovely&talented @sawyerblewis opened a food truck where cosmic eventually came to be. through the years I’ve supported & loved on them as much as I could, including working several festivals for their sister concept, @mamafried. I’ve grown to absolutely adore the team and now, it’s a privilege to say that I’m officially a full-time team member. I’m thrilled to bring you experiences of other local businesses from someone in the service industry.
