My grandmother, Lelia would have turned 104 today! 😇 Though she’s missed here on Earth, I can just imagine her reaction to this online community we’ve built. 💞 She’d serve up a plateful of love alongside some straight-talk gospel & wisdom (you better get right with Jesus, honey!). And her laugh? It could fill a house! My fondest memory is sitting in the den flipping through pages of Spiegel and JcPenny huge catalogs and we would circle things we saw, for her it was either linens for the house or a suit for church, and me, toys 😂 (fun home style fact: my big mama loved white linens and bedspreads!) My first collab that I landed was with @catofashions – she loved to pop in and shop at Cato’s in the small town of Kosciusko, MS! Talk about a God wink! Big mama definitely had a hand in that I truly believe. 🥹 This blog’s name is a love letter to her and for me to pour her love back into the community. Shopping, faith, and connecting with people – that’s what made her shine. My prayer is to bring you a little taste of all three, leaving you feeling inspired every time you visit! ✨I show up each day not only because it brings me joy, but to show up and take up space in an authentic way to inspire you to find your joy! This re-brand was needed to remind me of my “why”, and to continue putting in the work. I have so many ideas to come here to the LSC community including getting back to writing blog posts to serve as inspiration and as a resource. This Sunday’s “at home” post features something that brings me so much peace: these stunning paintings, “Chinoiserie Garden in Blush,” by talented local artist @mkdeckerdesigns ! 🤍 Every time I gaze at them, I’m reminded of the scripture in Matthew 6:25-26 about trusting God’s plan. ✨ Just like the birds who don’t worry about food, God cares for us too. 🥹 This beautiful artwork serves as a daily reminder to let go of anxieties and sing with joy, no matter what life throws our way! Feeling inspired by both the art and the new song “Good Plans” by Red Rocks Worship introduced at church this morning.
