Mt. Stanserhorn revisited

It is not only famous for its unique means of transport – i.e. modern open-air “cabrio” cable car and historical funicular, but also for amazing panoramic views. Therefore, when my parents came to visit us this July with their two dogs and we found out dogs are welcome on all the means of transport to Stanserhorn, it was no brainer to revisit this lovely mountain with them. By public transport: By train: Take the train from Lucerne to Stans, then follow the signs to the valley station Stanserhorn Bahn (cc. * Return ticket to Stanserhorn (2018): Adults: 74 CHF; with Halb-tax or GA: 37 CHF; with Swiss Pass: free Children (6-16 years): quarter fare if accompanied with a parent.

Easy hike from Bürgenstock to Hammetschwand

Few weeks ago, my husband and I visited Bürgenstock, a lovely holiday spot in Central Switzerland located atop of a mountain ridge above the Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee) You might remember I’ve already been there couple of times – last time in December 2017 when I celebrated my birthday at the Alpine spa of the Bürgenstock Resort, but it has been even longer since I hiked to the highest point of the ridge Hammetschwand. At the top of the summit you can see the historical Hammetschwand lift – the tallest outdoor elevator in Europe and enjoy amazing panoramic views over Lake Lucerne, city of Lucerne and the Swiss Alps. To get better idea how this hiking trail looks like, how does the Hammetschwand elevator looks like and how great are the views from the top, you’re invited to watch this short video I made: If you find yourself at Bürgenstock, you might also consider taking more scenic Felsenweg (Cliff Walk), a scenic hiking trail on the edge of the ridge.

Swimming with the wild dolphins in Mauritius

We opted out for a private tour on a speedboat run by a couple of locals – mainly because the price for our group of four people was just slightly higher than the price for a regular tour by the same operator. Quickly as I can, I took my shirt and shorts off, grabed my snorkell and flippers and jumped into the water. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but what I saw under the water exceeded all my expectations. The words can’t describe the feeling when I finally saw those amazing animals, freely swimming in the crystal clear water of the Indian ocean.

4-Lake Hike from Melchsee-Frutt to Engelberg

Few weeks ago, my husband and I went on one of the most scenic hikes in Central Switzerland, on a 4-Lake Hike from Melchsee-Frutt to Engelberg. The starting point of the 4-Lake Hike is Melchsee-Frutt, which is accessible via cable car or hiking trail from Stöckalp
