Review: 'Smith/Kotzen' by Adrian Smith & Richie Kotzen

Monster guitarists Adrian Smith and Richie Kotzen give rock fans a huge wallop of the good stuff on their new project’s debut album Smith/Kotzen. Set to be released March 26th, 2021 thanks to BMG, the record is rooted in the free-spirited vibe of 70s rock and influenced by the blues, hard rock, traditional R&B, and more. “Solar Fire” is a tough-minded blues/rock song that features Smith’s Iron Maiden band mate Nicko McBrain on drums. Every second of Smith/Kotzen is cool beyond words and comes off as one long love letter to the idea of rock guitar.

Review: 'Headspace' by Sydney Sherwood

Sherwood’s creative space is muscular alternative rock that punches way above its weight and gives her an identity that’s distinct from the many acoustic songwriters out there plying their trade. Sherwood also received a golden ticket to Hollywood from American Idol celebrity judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie in 2019, which was a big career boost. I really wanted to give an inside look on what anxiety feels like, the emotions you experience while in a panic attack, and the idea that the same mind that thinks of the beauty of life is also the one that thinks negative thoughts which can really drag you down,” she said. ” Sydney Sherwood is the rock vocal discovery of the year, delivering a fresh, turned-up sound that’s going to spread like wildfire.
