My husband and I had always loved to travel, but when we were pregnant, people said, "Just wait til you have a kid… you won't travel like that anymore." Boy, were they wrong! We have continued to travel every chance we get with our son, who is now almost 9 years old, and have instilled in him an appreciation for adventuring the world. This passion for travel led me to start a family-focused travel business in which I plan amazing vacations for clients. My favorite types of trips to plan are customized itineraries: two weeks traveling through Costa Rica, a national parks road trip, or a multi-country trip in Europe. But I also enjoy helping clients plan more low key travel such as a beach vacation or a weekend getaway. When I'm not planning travel, I enjoy sharing my experiences, tips and inspiration on my blog.
Wondering what types of trips I plan for clients? In the past month, I have planned... a long weekend trip to Tahoe, multi-week trips to Asia including Thailand, Borneo, Japan and Bali, beachy all-inclusive trips to Mexico, a honeymoon to St. Lucia, adventurous trips to Alaska, custom group multi-country trips to Europe, and even a wedding! I can plan just about any vacation you are dreaming of!
My favorite thing about the Grand Hyatt Kauai has to be the pool area. There’s a saltwater lagoon, multiple interconnected pools, an adults only area, two good sized hot tubs, a waterslide and a modified lazy river. But the best thing about it is how it is spread out and there are multiple little enclaves so you can feel like you have your own little area.
What can I do for you Wednesday: Off-the-Beaten-Path Sights and Activities Anyone can tell you major sights in a destination, but I also help clients find less-crowded alternatives that are often the highlight of the trip. For example, on a recent trip to Iceland I explored multiple thermal bath options and LOVED Reykjaladur thermal river as well as Geo Sea Baths in the north. Both offer a less-crowded and unique experience. We also hiked Mulagljufur Canyon with its stunning trio of waterfalls, where we encountered a total of ten people on our 3 hour visit. In-depth knowledge of - and experience with - a wide variety of destinations means I find spots like this for clients all over the world.
Update: postponed due to wifi connection I have just spent the last 10 days exploring Iceland with my family. Join me today at noon (Pacific time) for a FB live direct from my last stop… the Blue Lagoon! I’ll be sharing some highlights and answering your questions…tag a friend you want to visit Iceland wit
Today was all about the ICE in the Land of Fire and Ice; the Vatnjokull Glacier takes up about 9% of the surface of Iceland and is up to 1 km thick! As you drive along the south, you get a bit of perspective when you see how many tongues it has! There are many ways to enjoy the glacier, for every adventure and budget level.
When you think of Iceland, you probably think of waterfalls. I learned a great waterfall photo tip from my dear friend Jenny yesterday that I thought I’d share. Use live mode on your iPhone to take the picture, then when you open the picture click where it says “live” and change it to ”long exposure”. Look at the effect…what do you think?!
Iceland seems to be the top of everyone’s must-visit list and I’m here now! Can’t wait to experience this beautiful country and share it with you! Today’s highlight: Thingvellir National Park, on the Golden Circle, within an hour’s drive from Reykjavik. Here, you can walk between two spreading continental plates!
