My husband and I had always loved to travel, but when we were pregnant, people said, "Just wait til you have a kid… you won't travel like that anymore." Boy, were they wrong! We have continued to travel every chance we get with our son, who is now almost 9 years old, and have instilled in him an appreciation for adventuring the world. This passion for travel led me to start a family-focused travel business in which I plan amazing vacations for clients. My favorite types of trips to plan are customized itineraries: two weeks traveling through Costa Rica, a national parks road trip, or a multi-country trip in Europe. But I also enjoy helping clients plan more low key travel such as a beach vacation or a weekend getaway. When I'm not planning travel, I enjoy sharing my experiences, tips and inspiration on my blog.
Climbing Bell Rock today in Sedona, my son said they should have a national park here called “Gates of Heaven”. I have to say I agree; Sedona is one of the places that offers breathtaking scenery everywhere you look. Have you been to Sedona? What other places have you loved that offer fully immersive views?
Merry Christmas Eve! I loved catching up with clients yesterday about their European Christmas markets trip. They took in the Christmassy vibes in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France! Each country has its own style when it comes to markets, so it’s a great idea to explore a few. Let’s start planning your magical European Christmas adventure for 2024!
Research shows that we enjoy experiences long after the moment. Our enjoyment of experiences during travel far surpass our enjoyment of tangible things. This holiday season, consider gifting travel! I am able to access special pricing and also offer gift vouchers for travel planning services for those that want to let someone else make the decisions. Message me OR schedule a free consult at https://calendly.com/familytravelsandadventures/holiday-travel-gift-consult
No, I’m not in Venice…but I am in Vegas this week at a huge conference for travel advisors: continuing my learning and making connections with hotels, tour providers and tourism boards that will benefit clients. Today, I learned more about expedition cruising, South Korea, Chile and Alberta. Any of those pique your interest?!
Want to get away with friends or family, but don't want to do all the legwork of research, organizing, and communicating? This year, I've added group travel to my services: destination weddings, anniversary and vow renewal trips, and cruise family reunions to name a few. Message me to find out more about how I can take the stress out of your group's travel.
Galapagos Day 4 - Final Day We enjoyed one last day of snorkeling along a rift, where we saw dozens of types of fish as well as a 6-foot black-tipped reef shark! A short walk gave us the opportunity to see more Blue Footed Boobies and Marine Iguanas. Then more swim and snorkel time at Las Grietas, which is a landlocked channel of crystal clear water where the kids had a great time jumping in. And finally, a visit to the Darwin Research Center to learn about the Tortoise breeding program and to see baby tortoises! #ecuador #galapagosislands #travelplanner #gadventures #adventuretravel #galapagos #GAdventures #ecuadortravel #wanderlust #familytravelsandadventures #familytravel #familytravels #travelingfamily
Galapagos Day 2: On our second full day, we took a bumpy speedboat ride to the island of Santa Cruz, where the focus of the day was the Giant Tortoise. Dozens of these enormous reptiles wander the ranch freely. We learned how to know the gender (concave belly for males to make mating easier) and age of the tortoises (the smoother, the older). As an added bonus, we were able to explore a double lava tube to get a break from the heat! #familytravelsandadventures #gadventures #ecuadortravel #galapagosislands #galapagos #GAdventures #ecuador #travelplanner
Galapagos Day 1: On our G Adventures Family Land Galapagos Tour, our first full day on San Cristobal Island took us on a short hike where we saw Blue Footed Boobies (from chicks through adults!), Frigates, Lava Lizards, Sally Light Foot Crabs, and a snake. Then, we got in the water to snorkel with Galapagos Sea Lions, Sea Turtles, rays, and a plethora of fish. As if that wasn't enough, we hung out at the beach, where some of the playful sea lions were very interested to see what we were up to (see comments), visited an interpretation center to learn more about the formation of the islands and their history in a global context, and finally relaxed on yet another beach teeming with sea lions! #familytravelsandadventures #galapagos #galapagosislands #ecuador #ecuadortravel #GAdventures #gadventures #familytravel #familytravelblog #adventuretravel
