Top things to do in New York City

On our second day in New York, we wanted to continue doing all things New York, so we went for breakfast at Pick-A-Bagel. I felt so much better… and felt so excited for our last evening in New York, we were heading to a baseball game – New York Yankees vs Padres. Day four, our final day in New York, we had an evening flight home, so we still had the day to explore. I definitely saw NEW York in a totally new light and was excited to come back but this time with the kids in tow!!!

Birmingham Attractions For Families

The hotel is in a great location, about a 10 minute walk from the train station and the Bullring Centre as well as a 5 minute walk from a fair few bars and restaurants as well as a cinema! On our first day in Birmingham we visited the Think Tank Museum, we walked there from our hotel, it took around 25 minutes. We didn’t manage to fit in everything – on our next visit we’d love to do the crazy golf, Bryan’s Work Museum, Vertigo, Thomas Live Shows, and Emily’s indoor play area. It’s a good idea to check if there are any special events taking place at both the Museum and Drayton Manor, as I’ve heard Christmas as Drayton Manor is amazing and during school holidays Think Tank museum have special events on.

Yogi Bares

My day to day wardrobe doesn’t include heels or glam bits as no doubt someone will pull it out of shape, throw food at me, wipe their greasy mitts on me or get dirt marks on me from their feet because I’ve been carrying them around! Dressing up happens more, when I’m not with the kids as I find it easier to walk in heels without carrying a child or wearing an embellished / sequinned top that hasn’t been picked to death and made to look like sh*t cos the kids have seen how many beads they can yank off it! I love Zara, Topshop, H&M and River Island for some good basics – basics for me cost between £10-20 and is an item that I can just chuck on, it looks good and I not too fussed if the kids destroy it! My clothes taste when I got out is very different, but as I said, I like to be comfy when with the kids, so those are the style choices that I make…for now!

What we did...

* Punting – punting along the River Cam is a fun way to enjoy the views and beautiful college buildings – on a tour you can expect to see Kings College Chapel, The Wren Library at Trinity College, the Mathematical Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs. We went punting without our youngest son (22 months old) as he can’t keep still at the best of times, so bringing him on the punt would be chaos! On our journey into Cambridge, my son had seen cows whilst we were driving, he wanted to see them up close and that’s exactly what he got! Cambridge is a lovely town and this is only a brief blog on what we did, the people are so lovely and as much as I found the kids annoying, I didn’t feel like anyone else minded!
