Getting my Swim Style on with PrettyLittleThing - Laura Louise Makeup + Beauty

It’s super bright and I love a bit of a colour clash with the bright orange scoop neck bikini. I’ve just realised I’ve managed to subconsciously squeeze a bit of leopard print into every look – What I quite like to do, and it saves a little bit of ca$h, is to stick with relatively plain black bikini bottoms (these high-waisted ones are really nice, comfy and flattering) and then buy a few different bright tops to mix and match. I sized up on the bottoms to a 16 as my belly is a little large atm and they were a little big as where the scoop bikini tops…

Zoeva Cool Spectrum Eye Palette : Swatches, Looks & Review.

The Zoeva Cool Spectrum Eye Palette was created by the colours of the dancing lights of the aurora spectrum in the far north : frosty taupes and greys, metallic washes, moody teals, alongside icy pinks and lilacs. The makeup of the palette is a hard-wearing cardboard, that snaps closes with a magnetic edge : very slimline and lightweight and these would be super handy in a professional makeup kit as they aren’t bulky at all. However, I am stepping out of my comfort zone lately and embracing all the shades I usually wouldn’t wear on myself : I would usually avoid lilacs, icy pinks and cool taupes like the plague but after having a good play with this palette, I’m actually really liking the discovery, newness and experimentation and I’m particularly loving the teals and purples. The Zoeva Cool Spectrum Eye Palette is priced at £28.50 and is available in Selfridges, Beauty Bay, Cult Beayty and can be found online here.

The Emma Hardie Midas Touch Range

This clever eye serum contains a very fancy ‘Beautifeye’ (I see you Emma Hardie with those puns) technology that strengthens and lifts the skin around the delicate eye area, blur away those fine lines and brighten dark circles. This silky-feel serum has a wonderful texture and absorbs really quickly and it also contains Mica which give it a slight pearlescent look which adds a soft-focus and instant radiance to the skin. It contains Hyaluronic Acid, as per the rest of the range, and also Edelweiss Stem Cell extract, Marine & Botanical Extracts which tighten, smooth and lift the skin. All-in-all, a simple 4-step routine (including the balm) that would work for most skin types except possibly the most oily /breakout /acne types and if you are 45+ then maybe you would want a touch more anti-ageing in your regime, but this is a really good all-rounder and who doesn’t want more plump, radiant and smoother skin? !

Weekend 10-minute makeup look.

The less brushes the better (I use an entire sum of 2 for this makeup) and anything that can be dabbed and blended with fingers is a plus. Let’s get it straight : If I’m staying at home all day ; I’m in my dressing gown (house coat), slippers and not a scrap of makeup. To give depth and enhancement to my lashes I use the DHC Liquid Eyeliner EX* for a soft feline flick and smoke it out a little with the Kevyn Aucoin Basic Brown eyeliner. What kind of makeup do you use for a pared down and easy look?
