It goes over the Alps from Chur, Switzerland, to Tirano, Italy, and takes about four hours. at less than $150, I would consider it great value, and some thing that shouldn’t be missed. You must have a seat reservation in addition to having the train reservation. It’s worth it to ride in first class, with one less seat in the row. ✈️San Antonio, Texas - this was us, 17 years ago, leaving for Cisco, Peru. 🌎It was our first stop on our RTW (round the world) trip. 23 countries over 365 days. 🕊️It was the best financial, emotional and spiritual decision that we’ve ever made. 💰We made no money that year, but we spent a lot less than if we’d stayed and we have a lifetime of memories and life lessons from that trip. 🗺️It changed my way of thinking about money. Lake Texoma, Texas just an hour and a half north of Dallas, is Lake Texoma. It’s straddles the border of Texas and Oklahoma and there’s a huge lake full of campsites and fun activities. For those looking to get out of Dallas or Oklahoma for a nice retreat with your family and friends, you won’t be disappointed. Many campgrounds have full hook ups for RVs, and cabins for those that like Glamping and don’t have all of the tent equipment needed to fully camp . Of course, all sites will also have pads for tent campers. I would not recommend this in the summertime in Texas :-) Eisenhower State Park is on the lake and has great walking trails and a beach. That is really cool because it’s very small and there are a lot of fossils. It’s very easy to find some really cool ones. There’s also a great nature trail. In peak time, you should secure a day, pass in advance as it does fill up. The Hagerman nature preserve is just a few miles down the road, and while I have not personally visited it, our friends recently did when they couldn’t get into Eisenhower, and they said that it was beautiful and filled with wildflowers. Lake Texoma is known for its excellent fishing. There are also very frequent boat rides that you can do on the lake for either a history tour, sunset dinner tour or you can arrange a charter if you’d like. Of course, you can also rent watercraft if you are proficient at driving it. And for those of you, they love beef jerky or yummy handmade snacks, I highly recommend taking a 25 minute diversion over the line into Oklahoma to The Peanut Shoppe. You won’t regret it. Great Blue Heron at Lake Ray Hubbard - Rockwall, Texas Just 20 minutes down I-30 East of downtown Dallas is Rockwall. This small town has all the Dallas stores and restaurants that are legends and its own vibe. We are doing a staycation while our home is having worn done on it. I realized today that this is the least expensive type of vacation you can have. Not only is it a staycation, but we aren’t staying at a hotel. We are staying at a house that just happens to have access to amazing amenities like the lake, a neighborhood pool and workout facility, and it has arcade games inside of the house and a pool table. All for half of what we would spend at a hotel. For an added bonus, they allow animals so we saved on having our pet sitter come.
