Myth Busting: You CAN Get Pregnant During Your Period

A lot of us grow up hearing all sorts of myths about sex, and since many of us don’t get comprehensive sex education, some of these untruths never get corrected. The misconception exists that you can’t get pregnant if you have intercourse on your period, but this isn’t true. So, if you’re not on birth control and not trying to get pregnant, always make sure to use a condom for intercourse during your period. Some people aren’t into the idea of having sex on your period, and that’s fine!

Quarantine and Chill? Dating Life

There isn’t a single person on the planet whose life hasn’t been affected in some way by the the COVID-19 pandemic Let’s take young adults, just trying to live their best lives and date their best dates. And anyone who’s a frequent flyer on Hinge, Bumble or Tinder knows that this isn’t always the most desirable way to meet someone. Prioritize self-compassion, exercise and sleep; maximize your self-love sessions (buy a new toy lately?); connect with others in whatever way best suits you.

DOES IT HAVE TO BE ALL OR NOTHING ?

We are not robots, even though having to grapple with complex decisions makes life infinitely more challenging and confusing. Sometimes, we are tempted to put all aspects of intimacy, pleasure, and relationships on hold until all is well. I’m talking about waiting to be the “right” body size, having our career or finances all figured out, waiting to have sex of any kind until completely overcoming vaginismus  and on, and on, and on….Can At Maze Women’s Health, we help women to overcome  vaginismus, and during the process, they can still begin a relationship, have pleasurable, non-intercourse sex, and even get married.

Why did I write Sex Points?

The real answer seemed so complicated: to help women, to assure women that they are normal, to give women answers to questions they didn’t And then the real answer hit me: I wrote this book because I had to. Weekly I was hearing from women all over the country (and sometimes the world) with frustrations and fears and worries and a terrible sense that they were broken, when I knew they weren’t!! A combination of complicated medical information and complex psychological information broken down into, what I truly hope, is an easy to use, fun to read, helpful guide for women.
