Hey there!

I am Baia, a freelance content writer, travel blogger, food lover and a passionate photographer living in Tbilisi, Georgia. My blog, Red Fedora Diary, is all about budget-travel to popular and less-known destinations. Additionally, the blog provides tips and tricks on how to travel cheaper, safer, and better. My posts are based on my own experience, therefore I don't promote anything I haven't tried myself.

Man on a Horse by @matthiasmross in Batumi for this week's #MuralMonday. He has already created several other pieces in Georgia, including in Tbilisi and Kutaisi. His Man on the Horse mural, done within @nikomovement, is remarkably lifelike when observed up close. @warehouseatstamba is a newly opened wine bar and shop located in the Hotel and Cafe Stamba. It offers a wide selection of natural wines from Georgia and Europe. There is no menu, and they don't offer all their wines by the glass. Instead, you can choose from a few open bottles chilling on an ice bed on the counter. They usually have both Georgian and European wines, as well as red and white. You can also visit the store's warehouse to browse its wine selection and buy a bottle to enjoy at your convenience. Have you peeked inside this old Caravanserai in the old town? In today's #TbilisiTuesday, I am sharing some info about one of many Caravanserai that was turned into a residential block decades ago. From the outside, it's disguised as a typical house, so it's quite easy to miss. The covered courtyard of the Caravanserai has small windows on its sides that let in daylight. Typical of any Caravanserai, the ground floor had shops, the basement had the fridge, and the second floor, with the wooden railing, contained the hotel rooms.

Looking for the perfect breakfast spot in Tbilisi Old Town? Look no further than @bluefox.tbilisi 🦊, the feature of this week's #FoodieFriday. Serving delicious and filling meals from 8 am to 1 pm, Blue Fox is a creation of Jaume Puigdengolas, a Micheline-starred chef who has crafted meals with a Georgian base yet inspired by Eastern and Western culinary traditions. Named after an old Georgian cartoon, Lurji Mela, the restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, making it a versatile dining spot. Seating in their courtyard, I've tried the Morrocan dish for a variety because it's something I haven't seen on breakfast menus elsewhere. My dish's flavor profile was quite balanced and incredibly filling. Thanks to the team at the Blue Fox for hosting me, especially to Veriko and Mariam. #hosted Find more breakfast spots in my Tbilisi Highlights. :: . . . #RFDinGeorgia #RFDinTbilisi #tbilisibreakfast #tbilisirestaurant #breakfasttbilisi #tbilisigeorgia🇬🇪 #თბილისი #toptbilisiphoto #tbilisigram #tbilisi❤️ | Where to eat breakfast in Tbilisi | Things to do in Tbilisi, Georgia | Tbilisi restaurants | Tbilisi cafes

Have you heard anything about Borchalo carpets? I had not. In fact, I didn't think twice about carpets and their symbolic meanings. However, this changed a while back when I was invited by @wtgeorgia on a tour to an Azeri village in Marneuli Municipality, one of only two villages that still preserve the historic Borchalo carpet weaving thanks to the non-profit @rewovenrugs. In my Georgia highlights, you can find a post link of the deep dive into the carpet's history, meaning, and tradition. To experience it firsthand, WT Georgia and ReWoven are holding another tour on June 29th. Don't forget to email WT Georgia a code RED FEDORA to get 10% off the tour. :: . . . #RFDinGeorgia #exploregeorgia #travelingeorgia #mygeorgianmemories #georgiatrip #saqartvelo #georgiantravelguide #carpet #carpets #carpetdesign

Part of Cafe Kimerioni (opened in 1919) on the ground floor of the current Rustaveli Theater for today's #TbilisiTuesday. Established by the Blue Horn (Tsisperkantselebi) members, a group of Georgian Symbolist poets and prose-writers, Cafe Kimerioni was a cultural space for Tbilisians. The cafe was divided into several parts - had a stage for performances and smaller rooms dedicated to literature evenings, meetings, etc. The whole area was painted by prominent Georgian artists, including Lado Gudiashvili, David Kakabadze, and Mose Toidze. Unfortunately, many of those paintings were lost to time, but luckily, some were saved and restored. The room where I took these exact photos is where the Blue Horn members gathered to discuss topics that mattered at that time. :: . . . #RFDinGeorgia #RFDinTbilisi #tbilisicafe #tbilisi #tbilisigeorgia🇬🇪 #თბილისი #toptbilisiphoto #tbilisilovesyou #tbilisiphoto

Freedom for Women by @chertovatina in Batumi for today's #MuralMonday. Tina mainly works on pieces for women's empowerment, and this mural is no exception to her style. The red flag the girl is marching with says "Strengthening Women" in Georgian, while the elegantly incorporated flowers, sea waves, and birds evoke a strong feeling. Done within @nikomovement For more street art in Batumi with exact locations, find a link in my Georgia Highlights. :: . . . #RFDinGeorgia #RFDinBatumi #batumi #batumi❤️ #batumicity #batumigeorgia Things to do in Batumi | Batumi attractions | Batumi street art | street art in Batumi | where to go in Georgia.

Ever wondered why a train on the Tbilisi-Poti route stops at Rioni and bypasses Kutaisi? Well, read on! This is the house of a famous wine producer, Mikhran Ananov, constructed in 1903 by architect Ghazar Sarkisian. In addition to growing Georgian grapes, Ananov also cultivated imported French vines. Apparently, for his own benefit, the Ananov family has played a crucial role in developing the Georgian railway tracks connecting east to the west. During the construction, they traveled to St. Petersburg in 1866 to meet with the railway administration and paid a reasonable sum of money to divert Georgian railways' routes. Instead of stopping in Kutaisi, they asked the train to stop at a nearby Rioni, passing through their Estate. As a result, in 1871, the first train traveling on the Poti-Zestaphoni route bypassed Kutaisi and stopped at Rioni (even today, it's the easiest station to get off/on when traveling to Kutaisi). This brought Ananovs a lot of fortune. Only 15 years later, the tracks to Kutaisi were added to the Georgian railway route. :: . . . #RFDinGeorgia #RFDinTbilisi #tbilisiarchitecture #artnouveaustyle #historicbuildings #artnouveau #toptbilisiphoto #თბილისი #georgia🇬🇪 #tbilisiphoto #tbilisigram #TbilisiTuesday | Things to do in Tbilisi | Tbilisi Art Nouveau | Tbilisi architecture

What to Wear in Barcelona in Spring

Think of it as a mixture of stylish and comfortable clothes, with a couple of essentials like an emergency umbrella and a few layers for unpredictable weather in spring. You’ll see the older generation wearing neutral and basic colors, while youngers prefer semi-casual clothes like T-shirts, leather jacket, jeans, and comfortable shoes, for instance. you’ll be fine with a spring/autumn light coat or jacket during the day, especially in early mornings when visiting iconic sites like Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and Casa Milla, for instance. Light tights – as the weather in Barcelona in spring is still not warm enough to walk around bare-legged, bring light tights to wear under the dresses.

12 Stunning Pink Lakes in the World You Didn’t Know Existed

This helps to fund my blog and bring more authentic articles to you :)  Learn more Torrevieja Pink Lake is a salt lake in the Costa Blanca region near the town of Torrevieja. The best time to visit the lake is the middle of summer, when the water starts evaporating in the summer heat, allowing the potassium and high salts to turn the lake into a deep hue of pink. Located in Middle Island in the Goldfields-Esperance region, off the south coast of Western Australia, Lake Hillier is a beautiful bubble gum pink lake. Over the years Lake Hillier has captivated people from all over the world by the name of Esperance’s pink lake and the fascination to see it is so real that there are two ways to see it – cruise to the Island, by a helicopter, and via a scenic flight.

24 Best Cities for Digital Nomads to Relocate This Year

Even though the rent prices are relatively high compared to many other Spanish places (about 400-500 Euros for a room in a shared apartment in the city center), the rent prices and general cost of living are relatively low compared to other European metropolises. A lot is going on in terms of networking events specifically for digital nomads, great WiFi, and plenty of coworking spaces or cafes set up with remote working in mind. And it’s easy to find delicious street food all over the city where you can get a filling bowl of pho for just 2 USD. There has also been a recent surge in modern cafes with free high-speed WiFi and corporate offices especially designed to be coworking spaces, the cost of which starts from less than 10 USD a day.
