As we strolled through the streets of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, we discovered galleries and studios between the narrow alleys, artworks from artists along the walkways, restaurants frequent by artists. But right at the entrance of the art village Saint-Paul-de-Vence, near Place De Gaulle, I spotted a sculpture in a greenish-blue colour. In the art village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, you can also see novice artists presenting their works. In the early 20th century, many artists, such as Matisse, Chagall, Renoir, Modigliani, etc., made Saint-Paul-de-Vence their home.

Our 10 Days in Côte Vermeille and the Pyrenees Itinerary took us to some of the best places in the south of France, hidden Spanish town, and the mountain country, Andorra. The Côte Vermeille is in the French Department of Pyrénées-Orientales, near the Spanish border, and stretches from Argelès-sur-Mer to the border village of Cerbère, including Collioure, Port-Vendres and Banyuls-sur-Mer. Since it is more than 1000 km from Germany to the hotel Résidence Odalys Le Lotus Blanc in Le Barcarès, France, we stopped at several charming places along the way. The Yellow Train in French Pyrenees is a local commuter train running through the French Pyrenees’s national park from Villefranche-de-Conflent to Latour-de-Carol/Enveitg at the Spanish border.

Ever since my first visit of the Provence in France, I have been captivated by the beauty of the narrow alleyways in Provençal villages. The maze of the narrow alleyways in Provençal villages connects the local daily life, a life in slow motion and a relaxed atmosphere. The types of houses lined up the narrow alleyways, the narrow street construction material, the decorations along the alleys among the Provençal villages are quite different from each other. In Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of my favourite hilltop villages in Provence, the natural stone facades of the houses take dominant place alongside narrow streets.

Therefore, it has many nature scenes related to the mountain areas, like the snow-capped peaks of the Alps, glacier lakes, emerald valleys, and picturesque mountain villages. In addition to the jaw-dropping scenery, Switzerland also has cultural attractions such as the city of Zürich and Lucerne with excellent museums and galleries, historic buildings, and various festivals.
